Mr. Leyden is the Executive Director of IT Technical Operations for Newberry Group.
He is responsible for providing dynamic leadership in the development, implementation,
and governance of Newberry's information systems and technical infrastructure. Passionate
about technology and its endless possibilities, Mr. Leyden ensures Newberry’s technical
direction remains aligned with the organization’s strategic business plan.
A decorated 20-year veteran of the U.S. Army, he has more than 16 years of management
experience and more than 11 years of Information Technology Management and IT Project
Management experience. Before retiring from the Army, Mr. Leyden served as Senior
Information Technology Manager in Wurzburg, Germany, where he supervised daily IT
operations, coordinated infrastructure modernization, ensured security compliance,
and provided technical IT assistance and training. As a Senior Information Technology
Manager/Senior Plans & Operations Manager at the Army’s Aberdeen Proving Grounds,
Maryland, he oversaw large-scale modernization projects, such as data center infrastructure
upgrades. He also compiled IT requirements for the Army’s Base Realignment and Closure
(BRAC) study.
Mr. Leyden holds degrees in Management and Applied Science in Technical Studies
and several technical certifications including, MCSE, ITIL and Project+. During
his military service, he garnered numerous honors and awards including the Meritorious
Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, and the Army Achievement Medal.
